Here are a few other games I've run into that seem to be PAL. They do the same vertical scrolling thing that Gunvalkyrie did. Jet Set Radio Future, the Resident Evil Collection (one with the PS1 games), Men of Valor, and Serious Sam. Has anyone else gotten these to run correctly on a US NTSC XBox?

i dowloaded and burned the resident evil to disc and they played fine...my xbox is softmodded ...ive had similair problem but was when i had the resolution set to auto in the skin,dony know if that is your problem.the other games ive not tried

Use `Enigmah video mode switcher` to change your output from NTSC to PAL - you can change back again with the click of a button.

I had considered trying that but I didn't want to take the chance of messing up the XBox. If I switch it and the screen starts to scroll horizontally I wasn't sure if I'd be able to switch it back.

Well not really just yet. I went a purchased a copy from Disc Warehouse and when I tried to run it from XBMC, it did the same thing. So I turned off the XBox and restarted it with the game in and it worked just fine! I'm going to burn another disc from the image I downloaded and try to run it again and I'm also copying the disc I bought. I'm going to make my own image from that and then burn and try that. I'll let you know what happens!

Ok, so I made an ISO from the disc I bought and burned it. Doesn't matter if I run it from XBMC or power on the unit with it in; it does the weird vertical scrolling thing. The actual copy I bought has worked every time I booted the unit with it in. I haven't tried it again from within XBMC. It's still a mystery to me! haha
