Not sure this will work as is even from a dual layer disc. It's got default.xbe and default.xbe_orig which means default.xbe is probably media-type patched. My experience is that when default.xbe is media type patched it won't boot from DVD (XBOX may even say it's a blank disc). If default.xbe_orig is present I usually exract the ISO, rename default.xbe to default.xbe_patched and rename default.xbe_orig back to default.xbe, build a new ISO with QWIX and then it works from DVD. However, I haven't really read up on burning DL XBOX games and I'm not sure if I rebuild the ISO if I might lose critical layer break info. Besides, I bet most people will just FTP this one - why waste a dual layer disc over ~44MB?

...but it did work when I extracted the ISO with QWIX and FTP'd it to my XBOX.

Hmm...how about grabbing the SID (Software Installer Deluxe) ISO and reinstalling that way? Worst case, you could hotswap and install from a PC.

Posted on: November 22, 2009, 11:20 pm
i guess with SID i still need the memory card and spriterl,007 or mechassault,i think ill just hotswap it if dldisc did not work.

I think there's an ISO for SID that is bootable assuming you are modded to play copied games. For that matter, if you can FTP into the XBOX, you should be able to pull a copy of your EEPROM and then unlock it with the utils on XBOXHD Maker. Also, if you can boot a copy of Splinter Cell and can FTP into the XBOX, I can send you the files from SID and tell you which folders they go in. I tried a backup of Splinter Cell (should work with AUF or Mechassault too) once and the exploit still worked. I'm not sure what your problem is if you can boot backup discs - is it a region issue? How are you modded? I'm assuming you can't get to a file manager? However, if you can boot to a copy of and of the 3 exploitable games, it's easy enough to FTP the files to the proper places (UDATA and maybe TDATA) to be able to launch SID that way. Also, I believe Auto Installer Deluxe will install softmods as well.

Indeed Auto Installer Deluxe does install softmods you can pick between 5 dashboards: Anod Avalaunch Evo-X UnleashX XBMC I have AID 4.41 burned onto a DVD as a backup in case anything goes wrong with my xbox so I recommend this for anybody. I think there is a later version of AID but they're just updates on the homebrew apps,XBMC, and some emulators probably.

My emergency backups are my original XBOX hard drives, plus the XBOXHD Maker CDs that I made for each one, labelled with the serial number of the console whose EEPROMs they contain. As well as a hard copy of the EEPROMBackup.txt file generated by ConfigMagic taped to the inside of the top cover of each XBOX. (and backups of the C: drive and EEPROM files on a PC). Not to mention EEPROM backups from several friends who brought their XBOX over to mod.

....lol ok you got me beat. I'm not that advanced yet. I'm still learning on my own as I go and reading in and out of forums on xbox-scene and other websites. But yeah you're set to go no matter what happens lol. By the way, I went to the gamestops near my house and none of them have Crash Tag Team Racing . I guess I'm going to spend 3 or more hours downloading it off of SOR and hopefully that link isn't dead :/.

I thought you said CTTR worked when you tried it again? I can upload it here if you want, I was just hoping to get a bootable ISO to upload. Gamestops around here don't have much for XBOX and most of what they do have is overpriced and has generic covers. They do have generic memory cards for $1.99 and MS ones for $2.99. They've got some deals on Gamecube games though, I got several for $2.99 each.

I Downloaded this and tried to ftp the image striaght to the xbox. that didn't work... So i tried extracting everything with magic iso. then retried ftping that. Got Disc is damaged or dirty... I have a soft modded xbox and this is the first problem with games i have had so far.

Try extracting with QWIX. Also, the first time I FTP'd it it didn't work so I zipped each folder below the root individually using store, FTP'd each one, then unzipped on the XBOX in UnleashX and it worked.

To correct my mistake i meant xbmc not xbla...EvoX...I guess QWIX is just a miracle worker. I took the Iso image and ftp'd it. Worked first time like a charm. That is crazy i have always used flash fxp and never had a problem.

allenkazaam - do you have a list of the files that can be removed when playing in English? There are some files that look like they may be language based, but not sure.

so.. can this work via burning? thats all i wanna know before i start downloading

It works! Here is what I did: 1. Download all 3 parts, and join with hjsplit (free download, google it). 2. Extract the resulting archive file. 3. Extract the resulting .iso using programs like Craxtion. 4. Within the extracted folder, there should be a folder called resx. In there, delete the five (6) .bik files for French (ex. Chap1CainFrench.bik), and the five (6) .bik files for German (ex. German_Chap1Cain.bik). You should have removed 12 files total, all with "German" or "French" in the filenames. 5. Repack into an .xiso file using programs like GDFImage or Craxtion. 6. Burn using programs like DVD Decrypter (@ lowest write speeds, of course). Thanks to j8994's post titled "How to downsize a game" over at Xbox-HQ.com! Happy hunting!

By "five", I meant "six". So again, six (6) files for French, and six (6) files for German. Sorry for the confusion!
