The Xboxisozone front page has been changed to show community activity and new content has been grouped together.

This will help find out what's new and it also gives a lot more detail on new content just by visiting the home page.

Coming soon will be new sections for the sites for Cheats, Videos, Screenshots/Image galleries and more.

Again, feel free to post your suggestions!

The Xboxisozone.com is finally here!

The community is very similar to the one at dcisozone, with some new features, better graphics and it's bug free (So far )

The Xboxisozone upload script has now been improved and enhanced!

Uploads can now be done with up to 3 files at a time with a max total of 6 Gigabytes.

This means user uploads now only need to be done using one page, making the site and download page a lot cleaner and user friendly!

Romgamer Launched, New File Server Added!

Hi Folks!

We have finally finished working on Romgamer.com and the site is now live and packed with thousands of files!

You may notice that the content (Such as tutorials, videos etc) is very limited - We are hoping that our users will contribute and make Romgamer the webs number 1 retro & emulation resource!

We have also changed a few things - Users can now upload screenshots, boxart and add descriptions to files already uploaded with little or no information!

Another file server has also been added to lighten the load and speed up Subscribers downloads!

Coming soon will be the all-new community, which will be unique for each website which will be similar to the style of the community as seen on dcisozone.com but with a lot more features!

We hope that all of our users had a great New Year, which will be made even better with the launch of Romgamer

Gamecube Iso Zone Launched!

Gcisozone.com is finally complete, and is launched along with plenty of content and downloadables!

We decided to delay the launch of the website in order to bug & error test and to fill the website with heaps of content, to prevent the website seeming stale when launched.

We hope you enjoy the new website and that you will help add your own content in order to make Gcisozone as rich as its family sites.

What's New and Changes

We have decided to keep the community theme with Gcisozone as it is proving to work very well with Dcisozone. The community section is still currently under development, however you are now required to register to the community in order to upload files or post content.

You will also notice that Gcisozone looks that little bit nicer, as there is much more use of unique, stylish icons as will see when browsing the videos or tutorials section.

The image gallery feature has also been greatly improvised.

What's coming next?

If Gcisozone isn't enough for you, there is another very big site in the works - Romgamer.com.

If will follow the same rules and layout as the isozone websites but it will be dedicated to retro roms - such as the snes, nes, n64, mame and so on.

We will also be working on the community features of the websites and we will be looking for moderators soon - If you think you're up for the job contact us using the form on the 'Contact Us' page.

and last but not least, Xboxisozone.com will be overhauled in order to meet the same standards as gcisozone and dcisozone.

Hi Folks!

I have been getting a lot of emails from our users over in America that the download speeds are slow and not what they expected.

This is caused by the distance from the server to the user (The Netherlands to the USA) but it is easily fixed.

When you download using your browser, you will only utilise 1 connection to the server - this is causing the slow speeds.

As a Premium or Lite user, you are allocated a maximum of 12 simultanious connections to the server, with free users only having 1.

This means, if you are downloading at 100KBps from the usa, you will be able to get 12x100KBps - 1200KBps!

How to do it

First off, you will need the following programs:

Free Download Manager - get it here http://files.freedownloadmanager.org/lite/fdminst-lite.exe
The lates Firefox browser (Which I'm sure you already have)

Once you have installed the Free Download Manager, you need to make sure it will automatically 'Monitor' the firefox browser by going to options > settings > monitoring and make sure the firefox box is ticked.

Then, go to options > settings > network and make sure 'Maximum number of connections per one server' is set to 12

You're now good to go - just go to the download page, click the fast download link as usual and Free Download Manager will automatically load. Click OK on the popup window to start downloading

We have just created a firefox search plugin for each of the sites to make searching quicker & easier!

Here they are in action:



Step by step install instructions

1. Download the xboxisozone search plugin HERE
2. Open the zip archive
3. Extract all files to "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins"
4. Restart Firefox

...And that's it!

We hope this makes searching a lot easier for you!

All Isozone websites are now using the Lighttpd webserver.

"lighttpd powers several popular Web 2.0 sites like YouTube, wikipedia and meebo. Its high speed io-infrastructure allows them to scale several times better with the same hardware than with alternative web-servers. "

Apache wasn't handling the amount of download requests and causing the server to clog up and restart unexpectadley.

Upgrading to Lighttpd means that not only will the downloads be faster, connections to the server will me much more stable, cause less stress on the server and allow the server to process more requests without system resources being too-heavily consumed!

We are positive this upgrade will dramatically change your experience with the isozone websites!

We finally support download resuming with acceleration!

We only support one download manager, which is "Free download manager Lite"

Get it Here: http://files.freedownloadmanager.org/lite/fdminst-lite.exe

How to use
1. First of all, you MUST be logged in to your Premium or Lite account in Internet Explorer.
2. Right click the 'Fast Download' link and choose 'Download with free download manager'
3. Your file will begin to download!

Note:
To resume your download, you must still be logged in to your account, so always check back on the site before you resume

File servers upgraded, new changes & more

The switch to the new file server is complete! This will benefit our users by:

- Increased download speeds
- Increased upload speeds
- Little to no downtime (unlike our previous server, which got clogged up a lot)

We will also be moderating the sites a lot more, cleaning up uploads, comments and forum posts.

There are also some new sites on the horizon, Psisozone and Gcisozone, for Playstation and Gamecube isos!

The second site in the isozone family is now here, XBOXiSOZONE.com!

We've launched the site with a decent amount of downloads, but there are a lot more to come

If you are a current isozone subscriber (from dcisozone.com) your subscription package automatically works on this site, just log in as usual!

To new users, the isozone subscription package now cover all of our sites (currently dcisozone and xboxisozone) and when new sites are launched, your package will work on there too!

The packages are now globaly used on each isozone site, for instance, if you were to subscribe on xboxisozone, your account will be active on dcisozone also, at no extra cost

What more could you ask for
