Softmodding an xbox by Jmforever
The Items required for this tutorial are:
Action replay
Memory card
Memory card to PC adapter (Comes with action replay)
Softmod exploit (I used SID 5 but most of them should work the same)

The first thing that you will need to do is download SID 5, once it has been downloaded extract the contents of the file. I chose the splinter cell exploit; however, you can use the other game exploits the same way. once the files have been extracted open up action replay and with your memory card adapter plugged into the computer drag and drop both the exploit and the SID package (they have to be zipped) Once they are on your memory card, put it in your xbox and copy both the files to the xbox hard drive. Next put in the splinter cell disc and on the main screen go to load and the file should say something like, "Linux" and click it. You will be presented with the SID 5 main menu. Keep in mind that from fere you are able to ftp into your xbox just in case you cannot boot into you dashboard ad need to recover the system. Next, you will make a backup a MS backup or a backup of your C drive then create an eeprom backup. Once that has been accomplished go to install softmod Pick the desired choices; I usually pick EVOX and install it as a single boot on drive C. It will check to make sure it passes the neccecary requirements and then the softmod will begin installing. Once done the xbox will shut down and one you power back on you will be presented with the Evolution X dashboard.

Hey Jimforever. Just wanted to add that Action Replay/Adapter is hard to find these days. You can just make a USB to Xbox port wire and use standard memory/pen drive and xplorer360 program to add the exploits.

Yes I know I just wrote a tutorial of the best bethod that I am most comfortable with. There are several ways to doing the exploit and I found creating a usb drive some what tedious when I can just buy an adapter. There is one other method that I also use without anything stated in my tutorial and that is installing it from the computer using HDM. thanks for your feedback.

Hi riggedtaco don't know if you got that already but for me it was easyer with Mechwarrior. I bought 2 original splinter cell games but none of them worked with SID.
