Xbox Toshiba Samsung DVD drive fix
This tutorial will explain the 2 methods I have used for years to remedy the sticky drawer problem with the Toshiba Samsung DVD drives in a original xbox system.

There are two solutions to this problem. Both involve opening your drive...

#1. Open your drive. Cut a sticker or two into a very small circle. Place the sticker(s) directly over the exposed metal on the motor spindle. Now take a ballpoint pen and gently punch it through the center of the sticker to recreate the hole. Re assemble the drive and check before re assembling your xbox.

#2. This solution is much easier. ALWAYS LEAVE A DISC IN THE TRAY!!!! You may have to open your drive to stick one in there, but usually if you always leave a disc in it opens and closes almost every time. (I use a thick clear disc that you usually find in a spindle of blanks.)

Maybe... If the problem is a stuck disc tray. But I have never seen this problem with the other drives. The other drives usually just need to be cleaned or need a new laser.

An audio head demagnetizer works for this too,and much easier.just run it over spindle and top cover to remove residual magnetism and no sticker to gum things up. Don't know how easy it is to find one though, considering I'm probably the only one on the planet who listens to cassettes anymore.

Great suggestion M! Honorbrachios: You should try to play with it a little bit. Carefully force it closed while you are playing with the Eject button. Take the tray out and check the little white tab that is the emergency eject switch, under the front of the tray. make sure it is seated properly and that it is not broken.

I also lightly grease the underside tracks on the tray-and i stress lightly. You can acess them without even open ing console, just open tray.Clean them first and then use a light grease or silcone spray.Fuzzies can accumulate in them and cause friction. There are two side tracks on outer edges and the L shaped one a mechanism pin rides in.

Thanks, i 've already try this issue, without any succes. Finally i've change my Dvd drive, the older one make my xbox crazy (CPU 55-65° Oo and a lot of error 12 and sounds crazy :"KRRR, teuPEuTeupe KKrrrrrrrrrrrrr" etc XD). I've open the drive and the button for the middle of cdr (...sorry for my bad english) don't go up (it's was a philips drive). So thanks all for infos, very usefull !
